We would like to introduce ourselves as the Neighbourhood Watch Coordinators

We all want to live in a safe environment and have traditionally relied on the police to create that for us. But times have changed – Police resources are more stretched and there is a lot more emphasis these days on the community helping to look after itself. Neighbourhood Watch can play a big role in achieving this objective.

Neighbourhood Watch is one of the biggest and most successful social prevention initiatives ever.
Behind it lies a simple idea and a central value shared by millions of people around the country:

Getting together with your neighbours to take action to prevent and cut local crime

Neighbourhood Watch can:

- Cut crime and the opportunities for crime.

- Help and reassure those who live in fear of crime

 - Encourage Neighbourliness and closer communities

To this end we are regularly in receipt of newsletters produced by the police regarding crime and crime related issues in the Chippenham Area. In our role as coordinators we are required to disseminate this information to local households

In the past we have, with the help from fellow coordinators, copied and posted the News Letters to
households. For us to continue this task, we would like to establish a distribution list of all those who wish to receive the Chippenham Neighbourhood Watch Newsletter.

The Newsletters are produced quarterly. If you would like to receive this newsletter regularly, please contact either of us (details below). The Newsletter can be provided as a paper copy or, if you have  access to a computer, the news articles can be found on www.nhw-wilts.org.uk
