Church Fete
In spite of threatening weather, there was a good turnout for the Church Fete, and £989 was raised. The Plant stall, Pickles and Preserves and Cakes all sold out, and many people enjoyed the excellent cream teas. The Slarke family, whose firstborn, Rebekah, provided an unexpected sideshow two years ago by arriving just in time for the ‘Guess the weight of the baby’ competition, repeated the achievement in time for this year’s fete with William who weighed in at 7lb 1oz. Overall, the Fete was a great community event.
