Hullavington Ramblers
Hullavington Ramblers’ walk,
organised by Keith Collins was from Lower Stanton and around Seagry,
in beautiful weather with lovely views. The next walk will be a
6-mile circular walk from Cliffe Pypard to Bicknoll Castle on Monday
May 4. For further details, contact Bob Fenner on (01666) 837320.
WI Meeting
Verna Clifford, the lively
guest speaker at Hullavington WI, was accompanied by her guide dog,
Wheat, a Labrador with very expressive eyebrows. Mrs Clifford
explained a number of gadgets she uses to make everyday activities
possible when you are blind and left the members with a good deal to
think about.
The annual competition prize
was awarded to the President, Isobel Acott with the runner-up
Rosemary Mace. This month’s winner was Eileen Fry, with her poem
about her dog, coincidentally another Labrador called Hovis, with
Isobel in second place.
Film Club
As usual, there was a good
turn-out for the film club in the Village Hall, for a light-hearted
film. The next, on 27 May, promises to be more
thought-provoking.
Quizzes Galore
Take your pick from the two
quizzes planned for this Saturday, one in the Village Hall for
Harfest, and the other at the Star Inn.
Hullavington Big Tidy Up
Hullavington WI have organised a Big Tidy Up day
on Tuesday 12 May, gathering by the WI Community Garden at 10am, to
give a boost to the areas of the village that need a bit of extra
attention. If you are not able to join in on the day, your support
would still be appreciated throughout the summer
