Hullavington
Recorder Consort
The world debut rehearsal
of Hullavington recorder consort took place at the Star Inn last
week, when lofts were raided for dusty recorders and the seven
potential players flexed their fingers for a challenging and
enjoyable evening. Tyrone Harry is still looking for players who
can read music, especially experienced players who can play a
few of the voices, on Tuesdays at 8pm at the Star Inn. Contact
Tyrone (01666) 838510 or
tyrone.harry@cityofbristol.ac.uk
for further details.
Poetry Group
Despite fewer members than
usual braving the cold weather, Hullavington Poetry Group were
impressed by the variety of poems chosen to represent Rudyard
Kipling. Several of the poets had written about their regrets,
and their work was well received.
William Clemson has chosen
Emily Dickinson for the next meeting on February 3, and the
writers’ theme will be Love and Death.
Hullavington Footpaths.
Parish Councillor Peter
Mitchell has recently taken over the role of Rights of
Way Warden for the parish. If you find blocked or damaged
stiles, ploughed up footpaths, any access problems or inadequate
signing for our parish footpaths, bridleways or byways, please
contact him on (01666) 838700 or on
footpaths@hullavington.info. This
will assist the Highways Department who will be conducting a
survey of our footpaths and rights of way in November this
year.
