Charity Ball
Remember the Happy Caterpillars Charity Ball at Grittleton this
Saturday, with tickets from Jackie Collett (01666) 837896.
Children in Need
Hullavington Village Shop held its sixth charity raffle for Children
in Need, and raised a magnificent £601 thanks to the generosity of
those who donated prizes and bought tickets. This annual
fund-raising started with a bottle of whisky and a challenge to use
it for the good cause. The Serendipity Coffee Drinkers added a
further £80 from the regular Friday gathering.
Hullavington WI
Dudley Hewitt gave a fascinating account of his 25 years working for
the Duke of Edinburgh’s award scheme at November’s WI meeting. He
reflected on young people from a variety of backgrounds who learned
to rise to challenges and become self-reliant. At the meeting,
congratulations were extended to the president, Isobel Acott, who
has become the vice chair of the Wiltshire WI Federation.
Competition winners were Pat Harper and Isobel Acott. The Christmas
meeting on December 17 will be hosted by Sarah Harmer and will be at
an earlier time.
Village Hall Christmas Dance
There will be a dance and social evening for all at the Village Hall
on Friday 12 December from 8pm. Eric Gough will play modern, old
time and Christmas music, for listening and dancing. Refreshments
are included in the £5 tickets, which can be obtained from Liz
Parry-Williams(01666) 837713, or Bev Edge (01666) 837169.
