Charity Ball
Remember the Happy Caterpillars Charity Ball at Grittleton this Saturday, with tickets from Jackie Collett (01666) 837896.

Children in Need

Hullavington Village Shop held its sixth charity raffle for Children in Need, and raised a magnificent £601 thanks to the generosity of those who donated prizes and bought tickets. This annual fund-raising started with a bottle of whisky and a challenge to use it for the good cause. The Serendipity Coffee Drinkers added a further £80 from the regular Friday gathering.  

Hullavington WI

Dudley Hewitt gave a fascinating account of his 25 years working for the Duke of Edinburgh’s award scheme at November’s WI meeting. He reflected on young people from a variety of backgrounds who learned to rise to challenges and become self-reliant. At the meeting, congratulations were extended to the president, Isobel Acott, who has become the vice chair of the Wiltshire WI Federation.  Competition winners were Pat Harper and Isobel Acott. The Christmas meeting on December 17 will be hosted by Sarah Harmer and will be at an earlier time.

Village Hall Christmas Dance

There will be a dance and social evening for all at the Village Hall on Friday 12 December from 8pm. Eric Gough will play modern, old time and Christmas music, for listening and dancing. Refreshments are included in the £5 tickets, which can be obtained from Liz Parry-Williams(01666) 837713,  or Bev Edge  (01666) 837169.
