Malmesbury Morris Meet

Three local morris dance sides, Malmesbury Morris, Chippenham Morris and Hips and Haws, will be performing at the Star Inn, Hullavington at noon on Saturday for Malmesbury Morris's first Midsummer Meet. The sides perform differing styles of traditional English dance originating from the Cotswolds, North-West England, and the Welsh Borders, and each side is accompanied by its own group of doughty musicians.

Organiser 'Woody' Allen said "I realised the potential for a gathering of morris dancers when I saw the large garden & excellent facilities at the Star. The beer & food are good too!" All are welcome - see www.malmesburymorris.org.uk

Patient Representative for Hullavington

Liz Parry-Williams has put in sterling work as the village representative at the Gable House Surgery meetings for more than a decade, but has decided to stand down when the surgery moves next week. Hullavington Parish Council expressed their appreciation to her for taking on the role, and now seeks someone to take her place. If you would like to liaise between the village and the surgery, and can spare an hour every two months, please contact a Parish Council

 member.

WI at Polo Match

Members from Hullavington joined a group of sixty WI members from all over Wiltshire to see an exhibition polo match at the Beaufort Polo Club last Wednesday. Fortunately the weather was kind and picnic lunches could be enjoyed al fresco. The five chukkas were fast and furious, and time flew by all too swiftly. The afternoon concluded with tea in the clubhouse.
