Breakfast at Tiffuna’s

Don’t forget breakfast at Tiffuna’s at 40 The Street from 8:30 to 10am this Saturday, with its fine food, fundraising for Harfest.

Film ClubThe film club takes place in the Village Hall on Wednesday 28 May at 7pm for 7:30. For further details, contact Sarah Harmer on (01666) 837704 

Poetry GroupJoan Lindsay introduced the work of Edward Thomas at the May meeting of the poetry group, and members shared their favourites from his work about the countryside and the first word war. Adlestrop was remembered, with its willows, willow herb and grass, then a record number of local poets read their own flower-themed poems. Next month’s poet will be John Clare, with the theme of “Rivers” for local poets to have a go.

Hullavington Church FeteSave the afternoon of June 7 for the Church fete. Plans are well under way for this annual event, which is to include cake and plant stalls, and a hamper raffle, a tots corner and many games, in the beautiful setting of Court House gardens. If you are willing to help, or have donations for stalls, please contact Alison Read or Sarah Slarke.

Short Mat Bowls. Earlier this month, Hullavington hosted the finals of the short mat bowls league. Over 30 people attended from Lea, Crudwell, Kington Langley and Little Somerford. The bowls group meet regularly at the Village Hall on Mondays from 7:30 to 9:30pm and welcome new members of any age,(members currently range between 30 and 86 years).
