Hullavington WI.
At the AGM of Hullavington Women’s
Institute, secretary Joan Shaw recalled the activities of the previous
year, and spoke of plans for the future. Membership is increasing, as is
the range of activities that the group enjoy. Mrs Shaw concluded
“We have had a varied entertainment and educational
programme, shared in very congenial company”. Isobel Acott was
re-elected to the post of President, and the meeting continued with
hilarity and a beetle drive. The winner of the competition for an
unusual tea-towel was Viv Henderson, with Mary Williams as the runner
up.
The next WI meeting , on 16th
April, will be another special meeting to which all villagers, men and
women, are invited. The theme is ‘A soldier’s life in the trenches’.
