Parish Council

Hullavington Parish Council has a small amount of money set aside to give funds in support of village organisations. If your group involves members from the village and needs funding for equipment, or to enhance the experience you are able to offer in some way, you are invited to submit a letter of application to the Parish Council to make the case for a cash donation.

The Parish Council would also like to remind villagers about notices on telegraph poles. It’s fun to read these, but strictly speaking you should ask permission from the owner of telegraph poles before posting notices on them. Please make sure that you remove any notices as soon as they are out of date. They soon become very tatty.

Hullavington Post Office

There is still time to make your case for a full-time post office in Hullavington before 31 January. Forms inviting your comments are available in the Post Office.

WI New Year Lunch

Two dozen members of Hullavington WI gathered for a New Year lunch organised by Sue Fenner and Ann Care, at the Ship Inn Luckington last Wednesday. It was a noisy and gregarious event enjoyed by all.

Serendipity Coffee Drinkers

The Serendipity B&B continues to host the Friday coffee mornings to which all are welcome from 10 to noon. Funds totalling £600 were raised for Zaine, the Zimbabwe charity. This year starts with fundraising for the McCabe Educational Trust. Rev Andrew Evans visited this group in Palestine in September and was impressed by their work. The trust is run by Christians in a predominantly Muslim area, and supports an Arab Rehabilitation Centre for children with learning disabilities, and Bethany Lazarus Orphans who have no family in a place where there is no Social Security safety net.
