Jolly Tots Fundraising
At their Big Toddle, in June, the Jolly Tots
raised an impressive £211 for Barnardo’s and a further £100 for the group. It
was their first ‘Toddle’ and the children did a grand job toddling their half
mile whilst raising money for others.
Women’s Institute
Rev Andrew Evans delighted Hullavington WI with
his illustrated talk, “All at Sea with the Vicar,” recounting his experiences as
Chaplain and guest speaker on cruise ships. Not only were there glimpses of
exotic shores but also an account of the pleasure he gained from sailing round
our own coastline. Although the work onboard ship was not apparently too
onerous, Rev Evans explained that a good deal of research was needed to link the
historical subjects of his talk to the cruise destinations. The vicar has to fit
his busman’s holiday in with his full time work in our parish, but plans to
repeat the cruise experience in the future.
This month’s competition, an old Bible, was won by Pat Harper, with Sarah Harmer
and Rosemary Mace as runners up.
The next meeting on September 19 will be a creative one with Alison Reed
demonstrating boxes and bags.
