Hullavington
Post Office
Hullavington residents
have been concerned at the prospect of closure of our full-time Post
Office branch. However, if you use this post office you are able to make
your views known to Post Office Ltd. The options are that Hullavington
could have a mobile van for thirteen hours per week, or that it could
have a hosted/partner service run in a permanent building in the
village, but managed by another branch. This would offer around 80% of
the current service with the possibility of full time access. Comments
should be posted to Tim Nickolls, network development Manager Post
Office Ltd , FREEPOST CONSULTATION TEAM, or emailed to
consultation@postoffice.co.uk
by 31st January.
Hullavington
Parish Council
Hullavington Parish
Council spent the first part of their meeting discussing the future of
our Post Office. Please consider writing to Post Office Ltd requesting a
full time service in the village and explaining the specific needs of
the community.
Councillors were also
concerned about road safety, particularly about black ice under the
railway bridge near the Old Railway Station, where the combination of a
spring line, freezing temperatures and pedestrians require extra care
from motorists.
Village Hall
Christmas Party
Hullavington’s Village
Hall party was a sell-out on Friday evening. Both organisers and guests
were delighted with the evening. Some sixty people enjoyed a variety of
dancing from ballroom to line-dancing, all played with flair and verve
by Eric Gough, who also played the Gay Gordons especially for Paul
Hadley, village webmaster, to strut his stuff. For more information
about the festive season in the village, check the website
www.hullavington.info .
Hullavington
Christmas Tree
Hullavington’s Genesis
Singers, the junior choir, entertained a crowded Church on Saturday for
switching of the lights on the Parish Council tree. They were joined by
the Village Voices, and communal carol singing, after mulled wine and
mince pies.
The Christmas
Donkey
Gather at the new bus
shelter at the Parklands end of The Street at 4:30 on Christmas Eve to
follow the donkey to the Star Inn for the Crib Service.
