Garden Refuse Collection
The first collection for the new garden wheelie bins in Hullavington will be on Friday 17 August. The garden waste bins will be collected separately and the contents composted on a large scale, through household recycling centres, with the end product, Warrior Compost, available for sale.

The cost of a garden waste bin is £25pa, and a second bin is a further £10. The easiest way to register is to phone NWDC Customer Services on 01249 706111 and make payment over the phone using a debit card. The Wiltshire Waste Partnership is very keen to make this a successful service, as it is important to divert garden waste from landfill sites as it produces methane gas and leachate. The average household waste bin contains 21%of biodegradeable waste which could be composted.
If you require further information about the garden refuse collection or home composting, contact the Compost Ambassador, Maggie Dyson, on (01666) 837358.

The morning seeions will be from 10to 12 and will cost £3 per session. The club will be run by members of the local church community, so ring Alison Reed on (01666) 837661 if your child would like a place.

Nine people and a dog enjoyed a pleasant walk round Lacock when they were able to traverse reasonably dry terrain, despite traces of the recent floods in the hedges near the river. Don?t forget to put the guided walk along the Somerset Coal Canal in your diary for 9 September.
