Thursday, the 25th August 1892,
at Five for Six o'clock in the
Evening (subject to such Conditions as shall be then produced), the following
desirable.
PROPERTIES,—Viz.,
Lot 1.—
All that substantial and convenient DWELLING HOUSE, with good Traphouse,
Outbuildings and Garden thereto belonging, abutting upon the Street in the
centre of the Village of Hullavington now let to the School Board at the annual
rent of £9 and occupied by the
Schoolmaster.
(This is 30 The Street and currently occupied by the Jones')
Lot 1
is Leasehold for 99 years from 29th
September, 1840, determinable upon two lives now aged 52 years, or
thereabouts.
Lot 2.—All that COTTAGE,
situate in the Village Street of Hullavington, with Gardens in front and rear
thereof, Outbuildings and Premises thereto belonging, now in the occupation of
Mr. Robert Fry at the yearly rent of £4 (if anyone can
identify this house I would be grateful if you would let me know)
Lot 2 is Life-hold,
held by Copy of Court Roll of the Manor of Hullavington, for a life now aged
45 or thereabouts.
Lot 3.—All that FREEHOLD
CLOSE of LAND called the " Bean Leaze," containing 2 acres or thereabouts,
occupied as a Market Garden by Mr. David Broome at an annual rental of £7,
situate in Water Lane and close to the Village. This piece is well fenced
and very productive. (This field is at the side of
Blicks Close and currently owned by Ben & Heather Hicks))
Lot 4.—All
that FREEHOLD PIECE or PARCEL walled-in PASTURE LAND, containing 1 acre or
thereabouts, called or known by the name of " Dean Bottom” situate in the said
parish of Hullavington, and adjoining lands of Sir Algernon W. Neeld, bart., and
the Rev. I Sweet, and now in the occupation of Mrs. Sarah Steyens.
(Today this is called Danes Bottom on today's OS maps.
Dean means valley and Dane's is a corruption of Dean)
