Village Shops

Hullavington has  had many shops over the past  100 years, many of which fulfilled more than one role or service for example Frys garage was also the cobbler, the Post Office sold fruit,  veg, clothes etc.  There a number of  reference made to shops  Memories of Hullavington section  by:  Mary BakerMary Greenman, Marjorie Dolman (coming soon)  and Ron Bye.  We are planning  to construct maps  of the village at 25 year intervals showing  where the shops and services were located,  and all the changes that have occurred; such as the new building, airfield etc.  This is a time consuming task  and  If  you can help us by providing  any information, dates. memories  and/or photos we'd love to hear from you

The Bottom Shop .

Not being  born and bread in Hullavington, to me it will always be Jess's shop. This photo was taken long before Jesses was even born. I don't know who would have owned it at the time. If anyone has any ideas on this please let me know.
