Hall operational matters As mentioned in the last newsletter the new village hall is now three years old and begins to show a few signs of ware and tare, and therefore it was indicated that it is the intention of the hall committee to organise a couple of working parties during the month of August. This is the month when the hall is least used. If any user of the hall, or for that matter any body in the village, would like to join one of these working parties then this would be greatly appreciated. Please mention your interest to a user representative or committee member or just turn up on the day. The two Saturdays chosen are all day Saturday 8th August 2009 and Saturday 15th August 2009. Once again we thank those members of the committee who gave their time recently to re-seal the hall floor and in particular Peter Parry-Williams who organised and led the exercise. Village Autumn Show – Sep 5th – Village HallThe Village Autumn show will soon be upon us and so please begin to think about what you will do this year. It is a special annual village event and so let us have a bumper entry again this year. Lights still being left on in the Village HallWe continue to get reports of lights being left on over night in the Hall, particularly the toilet lights. Could we again emphasise the need for users to check these areas in particular before leaving the hall. The 200 Club The 200 Club continues to provide an extremely valuable source of income to the Village Hall. There are still a few places available. Contact John Greenwood on 01666 837227 for further information. Booking the Village Hall We continue to welcome new groups and organisations to the hall and bookings are extremely healthy. Nevertheless there are always a few spare slots. Please refer to the sheet printed in this newsletter for details of hiring costs and booking details.
