Hullavington Village Hall Management

Committee

 Report Sep/Oct 2008

The Village Hall Management Committee

As we move to the end of another year the Village Hall Management Committee would like to thank all those in the village who continue to support the use of the Village Hall and wish you a very happy Christmas and prosperous New Year and we look forward to your continued support in 2009.

Increase in Hall Booking fees from 1st April 2009

As a further reminder, because of the sharp increase in utility bills and other expenses, from the 1st April 2009 the fees for booking the village hall will be as follows:

Core User       Village User        Outside User

Large Hall      £16.00           £21.00              £32.00
Small Hall      £10.50           £12.50              £19.00
Both Halls      £21.00           £26.00              £42.00

.Access Through the Hall Car Park Chritmas/Boxing Day

To comply with our obligation to ensure that the path through the hall car park between Greens Close and Hill Hayes Lane is not claimed as a public footpath, the gates into the hall car park from Hill Hayes Lane will be locked for a 24-hour period over the Christmas Day/Boxing Day period.

Lights/heaters still being left on in the Village Hall

We are all having to deal with substantial increases in the price of electricity and the Village hall is no exception and therefore could we again emphasise the need for users to check that everything is turned off before leaving the hall. The lights in the toilets are regularly being left on and recently a heater was left on all night. Please double check that everything is turned off before you leave.

We appreciate that from time to time these things will happen and therefore the Hall Management Committee intend to investigate the possibility of installing timer switches in places like the toilets or maybe a single master switch that can be turned off when leaving the hall.

 The 200 Club

The 200 Club continues to provide an extremely valuable source of income to the Village Hall. There are still places available.  Contact John Greenwood on 01666 837227 for further information.

 Booking the Village Hall

We continue to welcome new groups and organisations to the hall and bookings are extremely healthy. Nevertheless there are always a few spare slots. Please refer to the sheet printed in this newsletter for details of hiring costs and booking details. Please contact Paul Hadley on 01666837096, email auff54@dsl.pipex.com or Bob Fenner on 01666837320, email bobfenner.99@tiscali.co.uk for advice on hall availability and cost, or simply access the Village Webb site where you will find booking details.

Note: to book the hall you do not need access to the internet.
