Hi Ron Sorry if you are disappointed at what seems like a lack of response. But I can say that I've had many positive comments about your piece on the website. As a web administrator, I have access to a range of statistics for our website; this includes all manor of things such as the most popular pages people visit and, if you exclude the navigation pages, the Memories Of Hullavington, including your pages, are in the top 5 sections hit. So people are obviously interested, they just don’t come up to you in the Street and say so. Your memories, along with all the others are very valuable and it is good that they are recorded for us all to share. If you have further memories we and would like to have them. There was an interesting incident someone mentioned (might have been you) about an accident on the camp way back with an old bomber (Wellington maybe?). If it was you or if anyone else has memories of this I would be gratful if you would let me know. All the best Paul

i think this website is quite interesting, finding out the history and stuff, thinking some disco/karioki nights should be organised in the village hall for everyone in the village, i think plenty of people would turn up if there was plenty of notice given to take evening and possibly next day of work. Maybe create a charity event out of it. x x

My sister and I are trying to trace members of our family who lived in Hullavington many years ago. Our father, Bob, or Robert, was the son of Daisy, who we believed married an Albert Tanner of Hullavington, who possibly lived at Fosse Farm, now a housing estate. Bob’s sister, Ethel, lived at Stanton for many years and played the church organ both at Stanton and Norton. We would appreciate any information.

Just thought I'd say Hi to everyone in Hullavington, I spent three of my more impressionable years (8 to 11 years of age) living on the RAF camp at 72 Wellington Place before being dragged off to Wales by my parents. I attended the village school in The Street from 1960 to 1963 and I remember that Mr and Mrs Mattey were the Headmaster and Head Mistress, plans were at that time being drawn up to build a new school on the school playing field and allotments,I'm not sure if that ever went ahead, maybe someone can let me know. My best friend was John Broome and I have many happy memories of the village and it's surroundings (always seemed to be summer time) - good luck to you all with the website Best Regards

This is one of my favourite web-sites. Congratulations to those of you who have worked so hard to get it going and keep it going. I think it's a fantastic adjunct to the Hullavington News, and a really useful reference. I've enjoyed reading about the history of the village, and look forward to reading extracts from the school logs about the children from the railway building. I was privileged to have access to the school logs from the village where I was brought up in Somerset, where the children had days off for the potato harvest and infestations of ringworm were common. Keep up the good work. Maggie Dyson

Ron, Don't lose heart - it's early days yet. We just need to get more people visiting the site. Maybe we could organise a 'village party' at The Star.

i would just like to say that since you put my profile on the village web site, that not one,not person as either made a comment to me or recognised me so it goes to show the great devide between the locals and the new influx to the once lovely village that i was brought up in i would say that it was a great effort for trying to unite the village. In terms of ease of navigation this is one of the most user-friendly site I have ever used. The speed of navigation is also excellent. Finally, I find it very useful site with which to locate documents that I should have filed carefully but seem to have lost - e.g., Parish Council minutes!
