Classic
Malt Whisky Nosing and Tasting
Organised by Pete

Thursday January 25th 2007
Please put the above date in your diary and
register your interest as soon as
possible.
The evening, in Burns Month, is designed to give everyone a chance to understand
a little of the background to Malt Whisky, sample 4 different
malts from 4 of the main regions and learn to identify and categorise
the flavours using the Taste Wheel. There will also be a chance to test
your knowledge in the Malt Whisky Quiz!!
I intend to bring along a Glenkinchie (Lowland), Cragganmore (Highland),
Talisker (Western Highland) and a Springbank (Cambeltown). Strictly
speaking I should also add Lagavulin (Islay) but first it adds £37 to the overall cost and also I don't like peaty malts!!!! If anyone would
like to bring some along though, it will definitely provide a different
nose and taste to the others.
Especially for the ladies, whilst you may not wish to drink the whisky, you
could still join with someone who does and help with the nosing and identifying
the various flavours.
It is also proposed to have a little bit of Haggis on the night to help with the
atmosphere!
I need at least 10 people who will be drinking the malts, there will be a charge
of about  £7 and you will be given the chance to buy the unfinished bottles at
the end of the night.
Please register your interest as soon as possible by return and then more info
will follow I have costed out the event more fully.
