WALKS & EVENTS  PROGRAMME2008/2009

If you would like to join us on one of our walks, you would be very welcome.  Dogs and children are also  welcome, provided their owners are well behaved. Our walks vary from short 2 mile summer midweek strolls, to  4 to 5 mile morning or afternoon rambles, to  10 mile day walks.  There is also the opportunity to do more demanding hikes  in places  the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains. Hullavington Ramblers.Walk on Sunday 16th Mar in the Castle Combe   area.. This is a morning walk of about 5 miles.  The route is new to us and explores a different area of the combe. Easter Monday Easter Bank Holiday Monday.   2nd of the commemorative walks  that had to be postponed from its original Dec date due to  global warming. This is a local walk from the village  organised by Alan Roberts.  Alan has chosen a good  route that  knits together  a series of our local footpaths into a walk that I doubt ant one has done before. except Alan that is. Sunday Walk up and around Cherhill, with its famous White horse and monument.  Organised by Keith Collins . If the weather is good , the views are stunning with a 360'  vista.  Meet  10.30am at the Black Horse pub on the A4 in  Cherhill village where we'll return for refreshments.  They have a snack  and full lunch menu and the food is good there.  Click (HERE)   for details

The 2009 SAHARA  TROPHY EVENT

This is  a dry walk competition taking place during January,  Febuary  and March, between Alan Swampy Roberts & Paul Arid Hadley

  • In addition to the normal walks programme,  there is also the opportunity for more demanding and testing walks  in places like the Brecon Beacons and  Black Mountains. These walks are in small groups and generally take place once a month on a  Friday.  Although these dates are planned in advance there is also the opportunity  to be flexible and just take off for a hike when the weather looks good.  If you are interested  in harder walking and would like join in, contact  mudlark@hullavington.info
  • Also why not  come along to the  the Ramblers drop in  evenings at the  Star Inn  on  Thursday evenings where you can have a  natter in convivial company and surroundings
