What a great way to watch a film

Last Wednesday, 21st Feb, the Hullavington Film Club screened  "I Walk The Line"  the film about the life of the singer Johnny Cash.  It was a really good film. The  actors playing the lead roles  of  Johnny Cash (Joaquin Phoenix)  and June Carter ( Reese Witherspoon) were just a little too true visually and by voice that it sent shivers up the spine on occasions.

The Film Club has now sorted out its licence and is in action with a series of films to be shown in Hullavington Village hall on the  third Wednesday of the month. For full details go to the Film Club's home page

Over 40 people  were there and it is a very civilised way to watch a film: you stroll over to the hall with a bottle of wine,  choose your company and then sit around a table with them, cafe style, to watch the film.  They even sell choc ices. .....whatever next......popcorn maybe.  Who wants to traipse into Swindon or Bristol  when we have the Hullavington Odeon  on our doorstep

The rules of the licence  discourage  the advance notice of the film title, so the film for Wednesday the 21st March  can't be advertised but  I can say it  stars AnthonY Hopkins and that American bloke named:  Brad something or other.  It is based on a book written in 1979 of the same name  by  Jim Harrison-
