Erecting The Village Xmas Tree 2008

Roger, John, Alan, Bob and Paul put the tree up on Thursday 13th Dec.   The ground was very wet and soft,  and despite Roger wacking the pegs into full depth,  the high wind on Friday night ripped out one of the pegs and down came the tree.   Peter and Liz Parry-Williams, on the way to feed their  chickens,  put the tree back up  and many thanks to them as they saved the day for the  carols  around the tree.

But with the ground so wet and soft, we thought we'd best  drive in some more substantial  stakes. Let's hope  this  has done the trick
