The Annual Village coach trip to London took place on Saturday.  There were 50 people,  with only 2 spare seats,  which was  a record. And what service you get too;  we even provided a wake up call  for one family who had overslept: the Lark's. So now we all know what it means to be "up with the larks"

The recent 2 WEA courses, run in Hullavington,   proved very successful and more are now  being planned. The first will be an eight week literary course starting in early 2008. This will be followed by ..... (MORE)

The crew at the  village shop managed, yet again,  to   beat their previous year's   record  by taking in over £660 pounds in aid of Children in Need.  

 

19 Nov 07 Hullavington Poetry Group- Read Eileen Fry;s report on the Nov meeting. including  the Poem "Hullavington by Moonlight" a  recently discovered work from a  past Hullavington Poet.  Next month the group will  study the  poet Michael Rasen and the  Japanese form of  Haiku verse.

25th Oct 07 The Archaeology of North Wiltshire  Hullavington Village hall Saturday 27th Oct. 10:00am to 4:45pm.  A WEA Day School on the  Archaeology Of North Wiltshire  including recent findings in our own and neighbouring villages. The  lecturer is Mark Collard who lives in Hullavington and has a senior position at Cotswold Archaeology .The cost is £15  and you are welcome to enrol on the day. The Vine Tree at Norton - Top wine award for pub

Staff at The Vine Tree in Norton are celebrating being crowned Britain's Wine Pub of the Year. Charles Walker and Tiggi Wood, who run it, were told by the Good Pub Guide they had won the award for 2008.Mr Walker said everyone at the Vine Tree was thrilled to have received such recognition. Wiltshire speed cameras catch most in England By Joanne Moore  Wiltshire has come out on top in a poll of the country's most flash-happy speed cameras. A New Class at Hullavington Village hall got off to a good start today.  The  class was the first of 2 WEA classes taking place in the Village Hall; this one being  a literary course titled  "From Bloomsbury to Booker" . Over 20 people have enrolled for this 8 week course.

The second WEA course is a day school  on Saturday 27th Oct . on The Archaeology of North Wiltshire including; inter alia: Hullavington, Sherston, Chippenham, Malmesbury.  The  lecturer is Mark Collard who lives in Hullavington and has a senior position at Cotswold Archaeology .

If there is sufficient interest, the WEA   will run more courses including an evening class
