Open Days at the New Village Hall. (updated 15 Aug) Tuesday 15th Aug. Is last opportunity to pop in on the hall open days. Come along for a coffee/tea and have a look around at the displays and, this evening from 7 pm, you can drop in and see what the art group do. The art group also have some of their paintings on display and for sale. I was surprised just how much talent there is in the village; you just can't help but be impressed. But Liz Parry-Williams tells me anyone can do it you just have to be taught how to. Last night we had a a number of people pop in to try the line dancing and the short mat bowls. It was a good evening. Click HERE to see photos taken over the 5 days. If anyone has any more photos we can add to the collection, please send me a copy. So far we have had a good response with many people coming along to see the hall and to attend the evening events. The Rock of Life band drew a large audience as did the rock band Undone. There have also been new initiatives from the visitors: a film club has been started, a number of people are trying to start up a ballroom dancing class, others a poetry group. A keep fit group will be starting in September and, if there is enough interest, there may be two sessions per week. If you are interested in any of these groups or any of the already established groups using the hall: art group, short mat bowls, line dancing, then you can find the details on the hall notice board. I'll also post more details of the old and new groups activity programmes on this website over the next couple of days. So watch this space. Dave Hunt prepared a presentation showing the history of the 3 halls that have stood on the current site from the " Old Tin Hut" to the hall we have today. I now have a copy of it and with Dave's consent I'll include it on the web site in the next few days. It i proved very popular particularly amongst people who've lived in the village a long time. There was also a short video taken by Hugh Greenman of the old burnt out have taken a couple of days after the fire on a depressingly cold, wet and windy March say. We need to get him to come a long and make a video of the new hall so that we see can bring the visual history up-to-date The
new Hullavington village hall is now
finished and to celebrate its
re-opening a 5 day period has been set aside
from Friday 11th August to Tuesday 15th
August for you to pop in, see the hall,
ask any questions and have a tea or coffee
from the new kitchen. In addition, over the
5 days, there will be live entertainment,
plus static displays about Hullavington, the
hall, and the groups and businesses that
operate within the village You can find the
full programme of events and times by
