Text Box: A new community choir for Hullavington?
A new community choir for Hullavington?

Text Box: Chris Samuel is a member of Naked Voices – and has performed and led voice workshops from Prague to Edinburgh and all over the South West. Under the VoxBox name he also runs harmony workshops in schools and local communities and his most recent venture is leading singing holidays. He runs Paraskevi, a small a cappella group in Bradford on Avon and works with Bristol’s huge and lovely Gasworks choir.

After running a workshop in Hullavington as part of the Music Festival (in the marvellous new Village Hall), he wonders if there’s an appetite for a regular community choir in the village where he grew up?
To join in, you won’t need to be an experienced singer - all songs will be taught by ear. They will range from simple but beautiful rounds to popular music from the 60s and 70s and world music from Africa, Bulgaria and many more different musical traditions.
If you’d like to sing in harmony for fun (and perhaps the odd performance) and are free on Friday afternoons for a couple of hours  email me at:
 voxbox@btinternet.com or call me on: 07971 918862
                                      Average weekly cost £7
If there’s enough interest, next year’s music festival could feature a new, home-grown choir!
